- Funding Opportunities
- Ph.D. students who are awarded a New York State Graduate Student Teaching Assistantship and accompanying Tuition Scholarship during their doctoral program will be required to perform teaching duties. Students awarded these funds may be asked to teach up to 1 graduate or undergraduate course during each year of funding. Teaching duties will be assigned depending upon the needs of the department.
- The student, his/her major advisor and the department chair will meet during the first 9 months of the student's program to determine a list of potential courses to be taught, with attention to courses related to the student's primary area of study. Final decisions concerning teaching assignments are made by the department chair.
- Students funded by faculty research grants (i.e., NIDRR, NIH, NSF, DOD, Deafness Foundtion etc.) are not obligated to teach.
